Heaven’s Gate, China
If you ever get a chance to view heaven
on earth, what would you say? Instead of joining all the sheep flocking
to the common destinations, opt for something off-the-beaten track this
year.
Tianmen Shan (Heaven’s great mountain)
made of limestone, is situated within the Tianmen Mountain National
Park, Zhangjiajie, in north-western Hunan Province, China. The strangely
carved stone stairs, are up to 420 feet high and 180 feet wide, and is
surrounded by outlandishly eroded block and obelisk landscapes. Even
during the scorching summer seasons or chilly winters, adventure lovers
are known to climb 999 rungs on an epic ladder to reach the peak. Though
the pathways are extremely scary with several twists and turns, people
do not stop! It is believed that the peak is a realm where God meets the
mortal world. This awe-inspiring destination is worth visiting at least
once in your lifetime.
